WELCOME TO DEBRIGARH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Sanctuary is like an emerald nestled in the serene blue waters of Hirakud Reservoir. Notified in 1985, it comprises Lohara and Debrigarh Reserve Forests of famous Barapahad Hills. Debrigarh means “The abode of Goddess”.
It is located at 40 km from Sambalpur. Dhodrokusum, the main entry gate, is 12 km away from Hirakud Reservoir and it is at the end of left dyke. Sambalpur is well connected by Rail, Road and Air (Nearest Airports Bhubaneswar 320 km, Jharsuguda 60 km). |

Boat Cruise: Enjoy the boat ride for grandiose Hirakud Reservoir. You can locate inundated islands and few sunken temple tops. More than 50000 migratory birds can be seen in winter.
Nature Trail: More than 15 nature trails have been developed for real eco-tourists. Each nature trail offers rich bio diversity along with a specific theme such as religious, cultural or historical.

In addition, there are three forest Rest Houses at Dechuan, Chourasimal and Dhodrokusum.
